Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde is water reducing superplasticizer in brown powder, usually used as high range water reducing concrete admixture in the construction industry, also used as dispersants in a wide variety like filler, leather tanning agent, building cement concrete water reducing agent, oil well cement water reducing agent.

Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde is an anionic surfactant, emulsion stabilizer, dispersant and suspending agent with a pH range between 7 - 9. This anionic surfactant is hydrotropic meaning it has the ability to enhance the water solubility of another surfactant. As a dispersing agent it finds application in wide number of markets: adhesive as a filler in polymers, water soluble paint, acrylic paint, and latex paint, paper making, textile printing and dyeing, electroplating additive; in pretreatment cleaners, post-treatment trivalent passivates, pigment paste, water treatment, waterborne coatings and even in some cosmetics.

 

Uses

 

In the construction market Sodium Naphthalene Sulfonate Formaldehyde plays a very important role as an admixture in concrete, cement, gypsum, and mortar mixes known as superplasticizer. Concrete superplasticizer can improve the rheology, mechanical, and flow properties of concrete while increasing concrete strength, promoting compaction, and providing optimium workability.

Superplasticizer can reduce the amount of water and increase the strength of the concrete. Improve the pore structure of concrete and increase its compactness. Reduce the bleeding and segregation of concrete mixture and delay the setting time of the mixture. Save cement consumption and reduce engineering cost and improve the quality of the concrete in the construction project.

Dosage

 

0.5 – 1.5% by weight of cement. Exact dosage rates are dependent on the type of effect sought, quality of cement and aggregates, water/cement ratio and ambient temperature. Therefore, in many cases it is advisable to carry out trial mixes.

SNF can be added directly or added in after dissolved in water. It can be added during mixing and after-mixing (better). The after-mixing approach can achieve better result.

 

Package, Storage & Shelf Life

 

For powder: Powder packed in 25kg bag/650kg/700kg jumbo bag.

It should be stored in a dedicated warehouse that is well-ventilated and dry and keep away from moisture.

Shelf Life: Minimum 24 months. After the expiration date, it can be used if testing results is qualified.
